Fee payments to NVC are made through the Consular Electronic Application Center’s Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center. It is operated by the Department of Treasury, through a partnership with the Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs.
Online payments can only be accepted from checking or savings accounts held at a U.S. financial institution.
You have to pay the AOS fee and IV fee one at a time, as you can not make a combined payment.
In order to make the online payment, you will require the following information:
For checking accounts, this information is available at the bottom of one of your checks.
If any of the numbers include a special symbol within it, just enter the number and ignore the symbol.
When you make an online payment, it is automatically debited from your bank account, commonly referred to as a direct debit. It is also called an ACH (Automated Clearing House) payment.
Once you make the payment, you can either print or email yourself an online receipt. You must retain it as proof of successful payment.
NVC would generally receive the payment within two or three business days from the time you initiate the payment.
When you make the online payment, the Affidavit of Support (AOS) fee payment would show up as NVC AOS FEE in your bank statement. Similarly, Immigrant Visa (IV) Fee payment would show up as NVC IV FEE in your bank statement.
Your online payment is really secure as the Department of State uses 128-bit SSL (strong) encryption and it protects your transaction information. However, if you are still not comfortable making an online payment, you can make the payments by alternate methods.
If any technical problem such as losing an internet connection occurred before you entered your payment information, you should close your browser, log back in, and try again.
If you lost the internet connection or browser window closed or similar problem occurred after you have already submitted the payment information, you should first contact the National Visa Center first before trying to make another payment attempt.
Once you start the online payment process, you must complete it as there is no provision to save forms and submit them later.
